Daddy's Princess

We had a fun filled first Halloween with Addie that started by crafting her costume. Of course, she was going to be clad in galactic gear befitting a princess, Princess Leia that is. To make her costume, her Grammy first trimmed out the white dress pieces and sewed them together. My contribution was the creating the belt and stuffing the hairpiece. The hair was originally going to be a stuffed tube spiriled up, but was modified to be concentric circles which were attached to a fitted headpiece. Addie looked so adorable! Accessorized with an inflatible lightsaber (not movie accurate), she was ready to go. She did not like the hat at first and kept trying to take it off.

Her first public showing was a Halloween party at the Curtis' house in Rose Creek. She loved playing with the little kids, but soon got tuckered out and went into meltdown mode. She also went to visit her Great-Great Grandma who we think was a little unsure on who exactly Addie was dressed up as. To top it off, Kim's parents took her to a party at Baptist Temple where she ate a hot dog and was questioned intently by an overzealous Star Wars fan. All in all it was a great halloween!
